Chris Jiggens is an accomplished builder with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. In his professional career, Chris has managed many projects, including constructing several Orange Theory Fitness Centers, Core Power Yoga Studios, restaurants & breweries. Chris has also overseen the installation of over 1 Megawatt of rooftop Solar PV. Chris currently works to ensure that Hawaii meets the 100% Renewable Energy Initiative by 2035, as well as working to provide affordable housing for the working families of Hawaii.
Chris grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where he enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, swimming, fishing, and paddling on the Great Lakes and surrounding rivers. In 2002, he moved to San Diego, California, where he learned to surf & free dive. In 2010, Chris moved to Colorado for school. At this time, he volunteered with Snowboard Outreach Society as a Youth Mentor. This opportunity ignited his purpose in helping children learn life lessons through experiential learning and action sports. In 2017, Chris moved to his wife’s home of Oahu, Hawaii, where his real surf lessons began on Oahu’s North Shore. In 2019, Chris began volunteering with Surfrider Spirit Sessions. Volunteering with Spirit Sessions has been a great way for Chris to help the Oahu community.
Besides water sports, Chris enjoys hiking, biking, gardening, and snowboarding when he can return to Colorado.
